BARKER COMPANY ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Keosauqua, IA – Barker Company has selected 9 students to receive $44,000 in scholarships. This marks the 11th year of the Barker Scholarship Program. $336,000 has been awarded since the program’s inception. Students must be children and/or grandchildren of Barker employees and must demonstrate scholarship, leadership, and/or service during their high school and college careers. This year’s recipients are:
Alyson Fulton, daughter of Kari Fulton and Rod Fulton. She is a graduate of Fairfield High School will attend the Art Institutes International Minnesota. She will study Fashion Retail and Management.
Shelby Banning, daughter of MaDonna McKinney and Daniel Hull. Shelby is a graduate of Davis County High School. She will attend Central College and will major in Spanish or Mass Communications.
Charles Brewer, son of Franklin and Melody Brewer. Charles is a graduate of Van Buren High School. He will attend Indian Hills Community College where he will major in Criminal Justice.
Richard Fortney, son of Tim and Katherine Fortney. Richard is a graduate of Cardinal High School. He will attend the University of Northern Iowa to study Music.
Zachary Keller, son of Mike and Tammy Keller. Zach is a currently enrolled at Kirkwood Community College and is majoring in Business. He graduated from Van Buren High School in 2007.
Tyler Marlow, son of Bryan and Teresa Marlow. He is a graduate of Davis County High School. Tyler will attend Iowa State University where he will major in Design/Architecture.
Brett Scott, son of Chad and Heidi Scott. He is a graduate of Van Buren High School. Brett will attend Kirkwood Community College and will study Information Technology.
Kelsey Snyder, daughter of Jim and Chris Snyder. Kelsey is attending Southeastern Community College and is in the Nursing program. She is a 2007 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.
Michelle Tedrow, daughter of Rita Tedrow. She is a graduate of Van Buren High School. Michelle will attend the University of Northern Iowa and will study Athletic Training.
