BARKER COMPANY AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS
Keosauqua, IA – Barker Company has awarded $29,000 in scholarships to students who are children and/or grandchildren of Barker employees. 8 students were selected who demonstrated scholastic merit, leadership, and/or service during their high school or college careers. The scholarships range from $1,000 for 1 year to $8,000 over 4 years.
This is the 12th year the company has presented scholarships to their employees’ children. During that time $365,000 has been awarded to worthy students.
The 2009 recipients are:
Meghann Crow, daughter of Jim and Kathy Kaster. She will graduate from Centerville High School and will attend Indian Hills Community College pursuing a degree in Bio-Processing.
Maryn Fulton, daughter of Kari Fulton and Rod Fulton. Maryn will graduate from Fairfield High School in May. She will study Athletic Training at Upper Iowa University.
Matthew Roberts, son of Gary and Debbie Roberts. Matthew will graduate from Davis County. He has not selected a school but would like to study Athletic Training, Physical Therapy or Sports Medicine.
Amber Moore, daughter of Bob and Michelle Moore. Amber will graduate from Centerville High School this spring and will attend Indian Hills Community College. She will pursue a General Studies degree.
Ariel Duncan, daughter of Stanley and Vicki Duncan. She will graduate from Van Buren High School and will attend Indian Hills Community College to for a degree in General Studies.
Michelle Fuhs, daughter of Brant and Tracey Fuhs. She will graduate from Cardinal High School. Michelle will attend Indian Hills Community College and will study Physical Therapy.
Kelsey Snyder, daughter of Jim and Chris Snyder. Kelsey is attending Southeastern Community College and is enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a 2007 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.
Jordan Thomas is the daughter of Jeremy and Lindi Thomas. She is a senior at Van Buren High School and will graduate this spring. Jordan will attend Indian Hills and will study Physical Therapy.
